So for my Week 2 Question, I would like to ask this time, what is your guys favourite map?

My personal favourite map would have to be cp_sunshine, Its still quite new and refreshing to me kcheer.gif

I think my favorite would be pl_upward. I like pl_badwater a lot as well.

As much time as I spend on cp_dustbowl, I also really like pl_badwater, pl_cactuscanyon (which they're never going to take out of beta for some reason), and of course, plr_hightower.

2fort is the best. i think it's very apparent since thats the map i've played the most on FP :V

dont know why, though. it's horribly unbalanced.

 

It's unbalanced to Hell and back three times over. Narrow corridors, chokepoints, intel which is waaaaaaaay too easy to guard and it's predictable whether the person capping it is coming up straight or spiral. It basically illustrates all the core problems with CTF as a game mode; in fact, I like to believe Mannpower was invented because that's what it took to ultimately overcome all those faults, which just goes to show how flawed the mode is in execution.

 

...which is also why it's my favorite mode in the game: comp players have basically no idea how to function on unbalanced maps (as I discovered on Drogentote at custom map night recently), so they just kinda spasm around trying to make heads or tails of the situation, leaving the pubstars the true kings and queens of CTF servers and basically getting free kills off the hapless F2Ps that wander into their territory.

 

...that, and camping the enemy battlements is richly rewarding kcheer.gif

I can just sit in there with my FoS, and sooner or later the entire enemy team is attempting to kill me while just feeding my fists.

I prefer good, old-fashioned "plant 4 or 5 stickies on the blind corner and catch them when they come around." Or simply camping the vent exit as Heavy with a Kritz Medic. Especially if a friendly Engie or two manages to get a base out in the turbine hall so the enemies have to come out that way.

 

Turbine in general is also one of the best Demoknight maps in the game due to the vents alone, and it's easy to rack up so many dominations if you're good enough at bash-swinging, especially with the Screen or the Tide Turner. Pyros also do well, both W+M1 and trick Pyros. I've found Scout and Soldier to be hard to play, though, since they need a lot of room; playing as them means spending about 80% of your time out in the turbine hall, which is impossible if there's a sentry there.
