Hey everybody,

Did you accomplish what you set out to do at the beginning of last year? If the answer is no, worry not because you don't run out of chances until you're dead! Let's make this year the year!

In 2016 I wanted to:

  • get some muscles (didn't happen)
  • get a hale's own (happened)
  • get all A's (didn't happen - damn you organic chemistry)

In 2017 I'm going to:

  • hold a handstand for 1 minute
  • get my black belt in karate
  • get all A's

Let's hear all the badass things that you badass people are going to do in 2017. Post here to make yourself accountable, and post updates if when they happen! Apologies if there is already a thread for this.

Go out there and be the best.

Yah, I did! It was a good 2016 for me, 2015 was the shitty year.

  • In 2016 I wanted to:
  • Go from 122 lbs to 110(did it!)
  • Get a new car(Did it!)
  • Drop douche bags from my life that I was hesitant on doing for half my life

In 2017 I would like to:

  • Get signed by more than 1 modeling agency
  • Learn karate
  • Eat more healthy??
  • MEET CARA DELEVINGNE

I don't do New Year's resolutions. I literally just forget to make them in general, let alone the effort involved in upholding them. But there is one thing that I'm set on doing this year, and that is:

Actually make an attempt at my schoolwork because my past few years kind of depressed me in that area.

Learn karate
Hey awesome! Only thing I would say to watch out for are what people call "McDojos," which are schools run mainly for money. The biggest giveaway for those is guaranteed belt promotions. Other than that, karate is an excellent choice! pwink2.gif

My 2016 Goal was not to do any side work and spend all my spare time with my kids.

My income went down but it was worth every penny.

That is also my goal this year after I replace this laptops main board..

Personally, I didn't pick out new year resolutions last year.

However, I do have some this year -

  • Earn enough money for a new computer
  • Get a job that I can enjoy and appreciate
  • Get a car and license (still on my almost expired permit and I'm freaking almost 20)

Well I think it mainly depends on what schools you can find in your area. Wing Chun is a style of kung fu, so it's different from karate, but if you've never done a martial art before the distinction probably doesn't matter too much unless you have your heart set on one particular thing. Whether or not a school is a McDojo is just a judgement call. If you find somewhere you like, definitely see if you can go in and watch a few classes before you sign up. Other than that it's just a matter of finding somewhere that suits your needs. If you just want exercise, probably almost anywhere would do it. If you just want to learn to beat people up, probably something like Brazilian Jujitsu, Muay Thai, or kickboxing would be the best. If you want the traditional martial arts experience where they try and make you a better person, I would recommend Karate - or Wing Chun would probably be good too, I don't have any experience with it except for the Ip Man movies which were really cool. Good luck, starting Karate was definitely one of the better decisions I've ever made.

I'm not really huge on new year's resolutions, for me it's more like shit-I'm-continuously-working-on-to-be-a-better-person resolutions. Last year started out really bad but then became the best year of my life so that's a good thing. I guess my current goals (some of which I've already been working on) are: don't be such an ass all the time, open up and stop being a turtle, and get rid of people/things in my life that weigh me down. Mostly the last juan.
